I do know that a lot of the time the serial number masks other information such as the date of manufacture. Whether they're willing to take the time to research it, I don't know. So I would guess it to be 1989 or 1990 but ? Has round charnings, welded stem, OS headset (1.25") and the brake cables (&fittings) are not oversized. It is 7spd and has the funky X-Press shifters (Suntour version of STI).
Components are Suntour X-1 (bitd when bikes got full groupo - or close to).
It is made in Taiwan of steel (Tange 4130). but I can't remember which year buyout was. I am thinking it is post-buyout because the frame says "Gary Fisher".
not sure how old but it is orig except the handlebar and seat plus it is pretty darn good shape.
